Colors around town and Zenith's birthday

Photo credit to Zenith with a few of my own additions ;)

Playing in the compost pile :P

Who doesn't love splashing in puddles?

He loves to put on Daddy's boots

Celebrating Zenith's birthday with marinated steak, roasted sweet potatoes, and buttered maple garlic green beans, carrots and onions finished off with pumpkin crumble

Sweet potatoes are always a big hit with this guy

Showing off their new shirts and Zenith's John Deere hat

We've been following a cool channel on Youtube called Wranglerstar of a modern homesteading family in the pacific northwest so I bought t-shirts for the boys with the logo :)

More pictures from Zenith of a local cemetery...color has been pretty good for being so dry this year.

I've been keeping myself pretty busy with preparing for the homebirth and the coming of this little one.  I've been going through some nesting and getting a lot of organizing done around the house along with making meals and freezing them.  Zenith's birthday was Thursday and thankfully he didn't have class that evening so we were able to have a nice little party with the 3 of us.

Thanks to Mom and Dad, we were able to get out on a little date to a local Italian restaurant last week.  It felt great to get out, just the two of us, before baby comes and it gets harder to get out alone. I haven't gotten the chance to do a home date night this month and I'm not sure I will before the baby comes.  As much as I enjoy doing it, it's getting harder to plan, go shopping for, set up, and cook special meals for them being this pregnant.  Basic tasks around the house have become challenging with the sciatic pain as well has my growing belly that seems to get in the way of everything. :P

Not too much longer though and at least laundry isn't an issue like it was last time when I was having to go down to the basement from the second floor to do it.  The machines had to be up on cinder blocks which made it that much harder to reach over my belly and down into the top loader to switch it over.  Having our washer and dryer here on the same floor is such a blessing and has made it possible for me to continue cloth diapering throughout this pregnancy.

My midwife came for my 39 week appointment and all is going well!  Baby is in a great position and growing perfectly.  I become more and more anxious to meet this little one and find out if William has a brother or a sister. :)

And a couple videos from earlier this month to leave you with.

Happy...Tuesday?  Is it really only Tuesday?  Looks like I'm in for another long week. :P

Autumn time fun

It's here...my favorite time of year!  Cool snap is in the air and everyone is breaking out the boots, scarves and sweaters.  Our landscape is now painted with orange, red and yellow as the leaves change color.  We've been out and about, trying to get the most out of this pleasant time of year before it gets to cold (and too snowy!) to go outside.

Saturday we went to the IHM annual Bazaar/Yard Sale.  It was great to catch up with people we hadn't seen in awhile and it's such a fun, festive thing to do this time of year.

Cousins Maddy and Gianna enjoying the face painting and cotton candy

"Come on, Dad!"

Little Goon was entertaining himself by getting up on the chairs

Sunday we went to a local farm/orchard/farm stand

He loved seeing all the animals

Chook!

They even had this area for kids to play in which William had so much fun with that he didn't want to leave

"Ok, I got my pumpkin!" (or "punk" as he calls them)

Matching buddies

They had a lot inside including yummy homemade apple cider doughnuts which the boys both tried (sadly I did not)

View from the center of our town

I thought we were going apple picking so I made the crust before we went to the farm for all those apples we were going to bring home.  Well, we didn't end up doing any apple picking so I used the apples I already had...wouldn't want that crust going to waste! ;)

It was probably the best gluten-free, refined sugar free pie I've made yet..mmmm

Wednesday night's view from the kitchen window.  Zenith took William outside to play in the yard while I was making dinner and it was just one of those moments I had to capture.  It was slightly cool outside, warm and cozy inside and I just loved looking out the window at my boys playing while I was making a nice hearty soup.

...which was quite tasty.  Butternut squash, sweet potato, carrot soup with ground beef

And because lately my sweet tooth is out of control, flourless banana chocolate chip mini-muffins for later to have with a cuppa

Just a splash of color..it's already gotten so much brighter!  I'll take some more photos soon and post them

We told him it was time to say the rosary and he went over here, knelt down, and folded his hands all by himself!  From time to time he'll kneel down during the day in front of Our Lady and start "praying the rosary" which is really a bunch of mumbles but he has all the right intonations.

We had a great time with Angie and Emma and were so sad to have them leave.  Hopefully it won't be too long before we're reunited again!

Everything is going well with the pregnancy.  Over 37 weeks now and getting close to the finish line.  I pulled out all the baby clothes the other day and it really started to hit me that we're going to have another little one around soon.  I can't wait to hold this baby and see how William interacts with him/her.

I have a phone consult with the Lyme doctor next Wednesday to check in to see how everything is going and to make a decision on whether or not I should be breastfeeding the baby.  It will depend on how bad she thinks the Lyme is which she should have a better idea of now that I've been on the antibiotic.  I've been trying not to think too much of the breastfeeding since the thought of not being able to is just devastating to me but we just finished saying the 54 day Rosary Novena for direction with all of this so I know Our Lady will guide us through it.

Hope you all have a good weekend and happy Friday!
