Birthday down at the Farm!

I can't believe almost one year ago, our little guy was just being introduced to the world!  What a year it has been.  William amazes us every day with his huge personality and happy disposition (most days).  It's so much fun watching him grow into a little boy, developing his own character traits.

This past Saturday we had a party in honor of his first birthday.  I had a lot of fun planning the party (which Mom graciously held at her house) and it's so funny to be planning a party for my child now!  We decided on a Farm theme.

He wanted to make sure he was dressed appropriately...right down to the farm diaper!

Wearing the overalls that Nonna (Zenith's Mom) made him

"Pin the tire on the tractor" game

Chicken Feed (chex mix)

Chuckwagon Chili and cornbread

Tractor wheels (oreos) and hay bales (rice crispie treats)

Cousin Joe came very appropriately dressed with his John Deer hat!

It's party time!

Cousin Nicholas was less than amused and found sleeping much more enjoyable than all this partying

Daddy and Birthday Boy trying on Dan and Joe's hats (both of which were too small for these guys' heads!)

Time for some birthday games!

Just a bit off

I decided the kids would enjoy doing a craft so we made Farm Animal Puppets out of paper bags

Getting instructions

They made cows, pigs and chickens

Time for some cake

William's first taste of cake

Mmmmm, I think I might like this

"Yup, best when you smear it on your head"

Lots of lovely presents

It was quite a festive day and the birthday boy was pretty worn out by the end of it.

I know I haven't been doing a lot of updating lately, but I have a few more pictures and updates I'd like to add soon so stay tuned.

  1. What a great idea! So creative and fun...I bet all the kids loved it! Loved his diaper and his overalls. Happy Birthday Willy! Wish we could have been there to celebrate with you!

  2. Oh what a Pardy, Farmer Bill! wished we could have been there too. Love your 'ralls and nappy! Such a pardy-bum. If we came Uncle Dan would have worn his milking flannie and Ollie her John Deer socks and dairy maid dress that matches your 'ralls....
