February: Birthday fun and snow

Happy 3rd Birthday William!  Per his request, we had a just a small firetruck party at home for him.  We had plans to go to a local museum for kids that was more like an imaginary town that is very hands on, but still contagious with pink eye, we decided to stay in for the day.  Later, we went out to Fuddruckers for an early dinner of burgers to celebrate and then back home for cake!

One very happy kid!

Two days later my birthday arrived and after work, Zenith took the boys and out to dinner.  It was such a treat not to have to cook or clean up!  I also received chocolate and a new Bluetooth wireless earpiece to replace my last one which had died.  I'm lost without it since I can hop on the phone with my sisters and be doing housework at the same time.  In addition to that, I was showered with lots of love from my boys.  Couldn't ask for much more than that for my birthday. :)

February also brought lots of snow, much to the delight of the boys!  They've been busy building up a sledding hill out the back and trying to get William from the top all the way to the back garden.

What's more fun than climbing into a bucket??

Playing in a box is just as fun!

More snow!

We finally found a babysitter to come watch the boys while Zenith and I had a long overdue date night!  We went to a really neat restaurant in Portsmouth that had been converted from an old house.  The atmosphere was very cozy yet classy and we were seated on a second floor balcony, overlooking the restaurant and the blazing fire.

Zenith got venison!  His first time since being in the states.

Another snow day!

At the end of February, when maple season started, we went to Parker's Maple Barn for breakfast.  The wait is usually very long, but while you wait, they have quite a country store to browse through with all its locally made jams, candies, crafts, soaps, etc.  They also have the maple barn to tour and see how they make the maple syrup.  It's all very fascinating.

Events from January

January was a month spent mostly being sick.  The illnesses running around the country this year were just awful.  From the flu, to pink eye, to just the cold over and over, it seemed we were never going to be healthy again.  Somehow, through lots of natural remedies, prevention, and grace of God, we stayed out of the doctor's office or hospital (so far), though many around us weren't as lucky.

The boys and I had an awful cough for awhile which we treated with garlic compresses, essential oils and colloidal silver in the nebulizer.

All this kid wants is Daddy, especially when he's sick!

We drank lots of tea too, which William enjoyed a lot

Another one of his "chores"

In between getting sick, we managed to get out to Boston to the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum.  I was feeling so cooped up from being stuck inside and I was dying to just walk around somewhere, and somewhere with greenery!  This museum is actually an old house (mansion) that used to belong to Isabella Stuart Gardner where she collected many pieces of art (many of them rich in Catholic history) and even made her own indoor garden at the center of it. After a lovely stroll around the museum, we stopped at a very neat cafe in Boston and enjoyed cuppas.

William enjoyed watching the train going by

We got a decent amount of snow this year and the boys had a lot of fun playing in it!

Trip to the hardware store with Daddy

Doing "projects" with Daddy (bolting the bureau to the baseboard so it doesn't fall and crush one of the boys since it's not very stable)

Another Sunday afternoon trip into Boston to walk around Boston Commons

First time feeding himself!

And quite proud

More from February soon!
