Anyway, we had a fun month in October between birthday celebrations and enjoying fall. The weather has gotten colder and our days are now shorter, unfortunately. :(

They were more than thrilled!

Can't get enough of these two darlings
A neighbor down the road gave William this costume and he loves being a froggy
The 22nd was Zenith's birthday and we had fun celebrating with him since it was a Saturday. We had a nice breakfast at home and then we all loaded up in the car and took a drove to Vermont to see foliage. It was raining which meant we couldn't get out and walk, but we stumbled across a huge antique mall and general store which we spend a couple hours browsing through. We stopped at the Common Man on the way home and had a lovely dinner. There was an initial moment of panic when we sat down and both boys were acting up (William was having stomach pains so he kept letting out periodic yelps, much to the dismay of others around us, and Marcellus wouldn't stop screaming unless he was grabbing at something he wasn't supposed to be...I swear that kid has 5 arms sometimes!) but after getting William to the bathroom and Marcellus happily chomping on bread, we were good for the rest of the evening. It was one of those moments when you feel so completely out of control and defeated and wonder why you ever leave the house with children. ;)
Birthday boy with his two boys!
Tim Tams and Promite, Aussie specialties! I didn't take a picture of it but his gift was a bronze statue of St. Paul.
Not long after was Marcellus' birthday and since we were planning to catch up with my sister Kaite and her family anyway, we combined it into a birthday party/All Saint's Day Party.
From left to right: Sts. Madeleine, Marcellus the Centurion, Gianna, William of Gellone, and Juan Diago.
Zenith and I had fun making this one :)
Time to smash some cake into his face!

Nothing like making dirt soup!
As for news with the boys, Marcellus is walking! Started just before his birthday and then right after, he really took off.
He now eats three square meals in addition to the milk I get at the farmers market. He's a great eater and will take pretty much anything you give him. He's a cheerful guy, but will squeak and squeal if his brother tries to take his toys. He has a few signs (more, milk, all done and water) and says a few words like Dada, Muma, Uh-oh, and ah-da (all done).
William is a very good brother and (for the most part) shares his toys and tries to take care of Marcellus. If Marcel starts crying, William tries to fix the problem by getting his bottle or a toy. He'll even go up to him and give him a hug or kiss on the head. He's finally reached the stage where he can pick up all his toys independently and put them all away in the correct place. He knows to separate the legos, wooden logs, train and puzzle pieces into different bins which is so helpful in keeping things organized. He knows most of his shapes and he's learning his colors which seems to be a difficult concept for him. All in good time...he'll get it when he's ready. He can count to ten, not always in the right order. ;) He says grace before and after meals, the Hail Mary, and his night prayers.
Well that's enough for now. Hopefully it won't take me a month to update the blog again!
Have a great weekend.
